IMPROVING INFRASTRUCTURE AT AOTEAROA PĀ

Aotearoa Pā in Ōkaiawa, South Taranaki, focuses heavily on educational kaupapa. Between one and two thousand people come to the marae each year to learn kaupapa Taranaki and kaupapa a hapū.

Funding from the Toi Foundation enabled the Marae committee to upgrade their hot water system, replacing a manually-fed furnace with a modern gas system.

“It’s comforting to know that our marae is fit for purpose,” said Greg Parata, Treasurer, Aotearoa Pā.

“The Toi’s capital grant is going to benefit thousands of people in our community when they come to visit us.

We are very grateful and thankful for the Toi funding,” said Angela Kerehoma, Chairperson Aotearoa Marae Trustee Committee.
