Lighting up Taranaki

The TSB Festival of Lights ran from 17th December to 22nd January 2023 in New Plymouth. It had 13 light installations and over 90 events, including events aimed at kids and seniors.

Extra funding helps to keep the festival diverse, fresh and interesting each year. A grant of $80k from Toi Foundation assisted with the costs of running the award-winning festival.

Half of the events showcase local artists, including Māori artists singing in te reo as well as English. This year, the festival has focused on inclusion, with an audio described buggy tour for people with access needs.

An estimated 150k people visited the Festival of Lights.
