Max Cave: Swimming Strong

Max is a 16-year-old competitive swimmer from New Plymouth. In the past two years he’s spent more than 2500 hours in the water, training and competing.
 
In December 2023, Max was accepted into the NZ Age Group Programme and travelled to Queensland to compete in his first overseas competition – a valuable learning experience for someone who dreams of representing New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games. 
 
Toi Foundation funding helped Max pay for flights and connect with more coaches and swimmers in NZ and abroad.
