Rescuing food with On the House
On the House is a food rescue and distribution organisation.
Each week more than 40 cafes, supermarkets and growers donate food which would otherwise go to waste.
Funding from the Toi Foundation helps to run the organisation’s new Community Food Hub. It collects and redistributes the food to Taranaki foodbanks and community groups as well as their own pop-up free stores in New Plymouth.
Last year, On the House redistributed 180 tons of food to more than 10,000 households.
