Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust
The Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust has been providing a rapid response helicopter service for 30 years.
60% of the services are for medical, for example inter-hospital transfers, 20% are for primary care, 20% are for motor vehicle accidents and rescues.
In 2022 the Helicopter Rescue Trust completed 312 missions, which is a 56% increase on what it was 5 years ago.
The operation costs around $4.2 million per year to run. The Trust has to raise around 30% of that.
Funding from the Toi Foundation supports the service which is essential to the Taranaki community.
