Waitara Food Bank (Potaka Kai) was started in the 1980’s to support people in Waitara and surrounds. One of Waitara Food Bank’s biggest challenges was transport. Staff were using their own vehicles for deliveries.
Funding enabled the Food Bank to purchase a vehicle to reach more people in need. The vehicle also enabled Waitara Food Bank to deliver food parcels to people in isolation with Covid-19.
